Shiraz Ahmed is a documentary photographer, filmmaker and journalist in Detroit, Mich. He has covered veteran homelessness in Chicago, cyclist activism in Houston and an energy revolution in California. Currently, Ahmed photographs civic engagement in immigrant communities and is documenting charitable healthcare initiatives for "Alive in Detroit," a documentary storytelling project and feature film. Ahmed is a 2018 Documenting Detroit fellow, Berlin Capital Fulbright scholar and Medill Justice Project fellow. He is a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
